Never been to one of these, I'm trying to talk DH into it. Will there be many on the younger end w/ little kids or will this be primarily an older group?

Though it is primarily an older group there are generally a few kids as well...depends on who shows up..this campground is big enough there should be other kids around as well...don't matter...as your kids are welcome as part of the group just like the "older folks"..invited to the same as you are..welcome to participate in any and all breakfast, dinners, etc..just come on up and have a good time in central Virginia..you'll meet a lot of nice people and make good friends....see you in Oct...

Ditto what Stan said...we like kids! Also, the campground does have things for kids to do. And...some of the attendees bring their grandchildren.

If we get enough people coming, maybe I'll have to bring TWO smokers.

Its at least a 5hour ride so if I can get off of work on friday and/or mon we will probably come but I have to see.... work only allows 2 people off at any given time so if it is already requested I don't get it (new girl on the block and all). Hopefully I will see you all there.... I make a mean amish macaroni salad! Edited by: anaro

We are new to this forum. As of today actually. Can we join you guys for rally's not knowing anyone? My Aunt and Uncle were in town for a rally this past weekend. Loved how everyone was so friendly and more than willing to answer our questions. Are you guys similar? Do you plan activities for adults and for children on your rally's? Do you have pot-luck dinners and such? We are never participated in a rally ourselves and/or been a part of a forum!! Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Hi Eric, to become a member you have to like eating good food, sitting around the campfire and basically having a good time. We as a group have been getting together some where in Virginia for about four years. We were all attendees at the Spring Northeast Rally and decided once a year was not enough. We usually do pot luck breakfast and dinner then take advantage of the local activities. Look forward to meeting you and your family.

Stan, I just locked in site E-41

Sounds like a great time! We love to eat and have a campfire. We camp alot. But alone. Gets a little boring sometimes. Do you guys ever meet a little closer to PA? Right now live near Pittsburgh. We travel to Richmond, VA once a month to see Eric's children for visitation. Hopefully one of our trips to VA correlates with a rally. Really sounds like fun!

Eric & Marci

Myself and my wife Rosie were first time attendees at the Northeast rally in May. We couldn't have felt more at home with this group of people. It was like we were all friends for years. The food was great and the company was even better.

Stan Just booked today will be in site E-49, for Oct.13,14,15,16.

Eric and Marci,

The Spring campout for the CrossRoads Northeast group will be in Gettysburg next May.

For the fall campout in VA, usually all breakfasts and dinners are Potluck. Lunches are usually on your own as folks decide to go out touring the area.

Stan et al,

For me, since I am not arriving until Friday mid-day, I will offer some sort of grilled beast for dinner, probably beef roast. Saturday and Sunday breakfast will be Italian Hot Sausages. Saturday dinner will be smoked chicken, unless I bring 2 smokers, then it will be chicken and brisket.

It appears that allthe sites are in Stan Olah's name.
Therefore, if you are requesting one of the rally sites, be advised that you must refer to Stan's name.
[yes, very confusing]
by the way, I have site E48

Is everyone leaving sun am, late sun or on mon am? Trying to figure out what days to ask for at work and if I do get off what nights to stay. With a 6 hr ride (longest drive for us to date), debating staying thurs, fri, sat and doing late checkout on sun after race or stay fri sat sun and leave mon am.

I can only stay until Sunday, Noon, but it is only 3 hours for me.

Stan - when you call for reservations they ask who the wagonmaster is. All of the sites are listed under your name.Edited by: RKamperRV
