Sunset Trail 5th wheels

I just looked at the Crossroads website under the Sunset Trail Reserve section, and it show a completely different set of floorplans for the fifth wheels.

They do not show the front slides anymore. They only have the following floorplans listed: SF29BH, SF29RL, and SF33RL.

Was there too many issues with the nose slide? Just wondering why they have completely went away from the larger units as well?

Good question. I haven't heard of any complaints on the nose slide.

We have a 2013 32RL and have not had an issue with any of the 3 slides.

I have never had an issue with our front slide. It is one of the main reasons I got this specific trailer. It is unique, which causes most of the other campers to ask what it is.

I hope they don't get rid of it!

X3^ I have never had any issues so far with any of my slides. I ordered my 2014 SF32RL back in March and when it finally got built and delivered in June it was a 2015. Don't know why they dropped the nose slide. It definently gets a lot of attention.

We just picked up the 33RL, after selling our 26RB. We really wanted the 32RL with the front slide (like our 26RB had). The dealer said Crossroads stopped making the front slide for two reasons. One being slide issues and the other being it was too different for the market and they did not sell as well as the others. I think the main reason is they wanted to get away from the schwintech slides.

So Crossroads is no longer using the Schwintech slide system on their 2015 models?

They are now using the cable system on the 2 main cabin slides. The front bed slide still has the Schwintech system on my 2015 SF32RL. Hopefully I will have no issues with it as time goes on.

We have a SF32RL and when we pulled it out of winter storage this spring the right motor on the front slide had failed. It was a week out of warranty but I called Schwintek and they honored the warranty so the dealer fixed it. It's nice that it's still usable with the slide in as we did end up camping one trip without being able to extend it out. It certainly a conversation starter as it's unique.

That is what I was told at the dealership and it has been quoted in this forum that some have heard it directly from Crossroads. On the 2015 we picked up today, it has the BAL cable system on all three slides. It also appears from the update on the Crossroads website, the front slide is a thing of the past.
