2012 ram 1500 and 27rl zinger

I just bought a zinger 27rl and plan to use my 2012 quad cab 1500 4x4 5.7l 2.92 axle to haul the zinger, is there anything special I should know before I pick it up next week?

Same set-up as you. You have a 3.92, ok. Tows wonderfully for me. Put over 2500 miles so far on it. Average around 10 MPG.

Lgwatson,
Buy the best WD, Anti-sway hitch you can afford. We pull our Sunset Trail 270BH with our 2014 Ram 1500 and it can get squirrely in wind.

Like MidOhioHunter, I as well have a 2014 Hemi with the 3:92 rear end. I pull a ST30RE and lots of power. I installed a Reese Dual Cam sway control and works fairly well. Yes, it does the get a little squirrelly in heavy cross wounds or when a semi pulls up and passes you. Not sure any brand of sway control will eliminate this. I also installed the Airlift 1000 airbags as the coil springs on the truck are quite soft. About $250 installed. Highly recommend the air bags and a good anti-sway control.

I too installed the Airlift 1000 airbags and it made A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. Highly recommended I installed them myself with the help of my father-in-law's big floor jack to get that rear end up off the ground and allow some work space. If your up to it, buy them off Amazon for about $100, allow about 2 hrs of your time and a sore back and you have it done.

Just watch how much air you have in the bags b/c this CAN and WILL affect the performance of your anti-sway. I have the Equalizer and it depends on downward force on the spring bars, less force, less sway control (learned this one the hard way).

I love mine too. Just remember that they do not increase your payload. For leveling only.
