422 goes to 4 lanes outside of Butler County - all the way to Armstrong County. After it goes to 2 lanes with hills until just outside of Indiana. Some 4 lane with 2 lane all the way to Ebensburg where you get the I 99 or 219 south which is 4 lane all the way.
I'm not a big fan of the Turnpike but you might not like the 2 lane sections of 422 in Indiana/Amrstrong/Cambria county.
Thanks for the info.
Are the 2 lanes bad?? Or just typical 2 lanes? I see they go thru many small towns. Slow? Are hills too bad for 30' trailer? I hate the PA turnpike. One 10+ mile section was like a slalom course. We were still bouncing 5 miles later.
I know I don't want to continue on 30 due to its steep hills. [We are heading to Gettysburg]
Will probably drop down 99 and go around thru Fredrick and Thurmont.
