furnace vent smell

I bought a used 2012 sunset trail 29ss back in May. Couple that owned it before used it for beach trips so I don't think that the furnace had ever been used. Went to the deer lease this weekend and for the first time cranked on the furnace.

Immediately I noticed an awful smell in the rear bunk room where the small vent is. It doesn't smell quite like something burning but not sure... I opened up the windows and let it run for about 5-6 hours.

Smell is still there but ONLY in the bunkroom vent. The other vents smell fine. Also this rear vent does not blow heat at all like the other vents..very weak.. I'm wondering if it is the new furnace needing to be run more or if maybe some mice got down there at one point or if I have a furnace issue...

Any ideas??

Sounds like something is blocking the vent.
Does the grate come off
Can you look down the vent duct with a mirror and a flashlight ?

I agree, it might be a nest of rodent material.

Rodent is a good bet it won't smell like garbage but you know something is rotting. Try TDG's suggestion you have got to get it out.

Noobie suggestion alert!!!!! You have been warned so someone speak up if this is a bad idea. I don't know what the ducting is made of so I suggest this as a make sure you think the ducts are sturdy enough to handle it. If it were mine I would take the grate off and run my shop vac hose down the duct to see if it sucks any thing out of it.
