speaker replacment

I have a 2013 reserve 32trl and the two speakers spun like a transistor radio, I have tried all settings so I'm thinking of replacing them with new 6 1/2 launchers is wanted to know if I will have the space for the bigger magnets

I replaced mine with Infinity Reference 6502ix. The adviser at crutchfield said that they would perform well because they are so efficient at 92 db which is desirable since the Jensen entertainment center puts out relatively low power.

Good info,

The link didn't work so here is the updated link to Crutchfield
http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-Refer...ference+6502ix

They're 120 there but Amazon has them for $75 here..

I went cheap with the Kenwood KFCG1620's and less than impressed with the sound quality.

John, are the 6502's a big step up in sound quality?

I ask because I've succumbed to the reality that the receiver/dvd player is the real problem with the lousy sound quality. Thinking of adding an amp.

Mark, the Infinity's are a HUGE step up in quality from the OEM speakers. My wife who would still have be happy with her 1990 tube TV even remarked about the increased quality.

It is true that the Jensen receiver is basically crap and I have not seen an upgrade on the market that would fit the hole in the wall. According to my research and the Crutchfield tech support guy, the Infinity Speakers are quite efficient and do the most possible with the low power the receiver puts out. Thus the better sound.

One issue I came across was the way the factory wired the speakers. As you know each speaker is supposed to have it's own wire coming off the head unit. Well, the folks in the factory wired two speakers to one circuit off the head. That really cut the power. When I called Crossroads on it they basically said oh well.....

I know Crutchfield is a bit higher but I do like their technical support and service. A good value added for the few extra bucks particularly with problems outside the ordinary.

Thanks for the update. Yes, I buy from them when I need to do the research. But you've helped all of us out!

Now how to explain to the Mrs. That I need new new speakers. The $24 specials were not so special.

Also, I stripped and custom painted the grills on the Kenwoods.

Mark and Kim, we are talking about the interior speakers but the exterior ones are on my list to change out. They sound worse than the inside ones did. Have picked out some marine speakers for outside but have not had a minute to do it yet.

My wife got used to the UPS guy showing up with boxes of car parts or electronics years ago. She just shakes her head.

I have the Genesis system in my 2013 reserve 32rl, I did have the Jensen in my coachmen and it was much better. when I questioned crossroads about the surround sound that it was advertised with I was told the two speakers on the roof along with the tv speakers was the surround sound and it does not have a bass speaker.

We upgraded to Infinity speakers for inside and outside as well. We also have a set of 5 1/2s for the bedroom but haven't installed them yet. My husband likes his sound so he installed an amp after upgrading the speakers. It made a huge difference in quality. We had to fabricate some spacer rings to fit the outside marine speakers in the stock holes. He didn't want to cut a hole through the exterior wall.

Infinity makes a marine-grade speaker? Could you post a link?

The Infinity Reference X REF-6502ix 6-1/2" were a direct replacement for our ceiling speakers. Just unscrewed the cheap stock ones and mounted these. Replaced there crappy connectors on the speaker wires as well.

They look great. The blue is a great match for the trailer. This is the only photo I have at the moment.
