We have a 2012 st29ss and our front cap looks terrible. We are setting up appointment to take in to dealer for warranty work. I will let you know what they do.

We also have major fading on our front cap looks like crap, and the stone chips are horriable. We have a 2012 ST28FL. We have hadnumerousproblems with our trailer and the dealer is the worst! They have wanted us to fix the problemsinsteadof bringing it in for warranty work. WTH!!! We are contacting CrossRoads about these issues.

Andreah,
Good for you and that's what you should do. CR's has taken dealerships away from those who will not perform required warranty work. Do not stop until you get satisfactory answers.

We took our 2012 Sunset Trail Reserve back to dealership for warranty work. Front cap fading was one of the big problems. Crossroads paid to have it repainted with high end auto paint. Dealership told us they had had a lot of caps fade. Found out it was not painted with correct paint. No UV protection. Looks beautiful now. Crossroads took care of all of our issues. We are still having problems with slide not working properly. Will be taking back to dealership to have repaired before warranty is out.

Took ours in to dealership and they ended up replacing the cap with a brand new 2013 cap. Very happy with CR they have taken care of all are issues with no problems.

When we picked our 2012 31ss up, we noticed 2 faded brown caps laying by the dumpster behind the repair shop at the dealer...

Anyone here have this issue and not be a warranty issue? What I mean is we just purchased a 2011 Sunset Trail Reserve 30RE used and it also has a fading problem on the front cap. the paint must have been real crap as you can tell where the "For Sale" signed were taped to the front cap. Anyone had any luck with a remedy other than repaint?

I think doing a wrap on the front cap is a nice fix.

We had ours repainted while still under the warranty. Decal was removed and not replaced, which was fine with us. Looks good and we don't have to worry about the decal fading/cracking. Lazy Days in Tampa did a great job.

From what I have read on different sites, there seems to be a problem with the paint on the front cone. Thank god we noted it with the factory while we were still under warranty.

Front Cap Fading Badly

We have been having a dealer issue and they at best have been non-responsive and/or unhelpful. Is it best to contact Crossroads about the front cap issue at their Customer Service email address?

Love our trailer, but that front cap looks pretty bad! We finally got the slide-out issues fixed at another dealer, but just need to get the flooring fixed since it ripped in 2 places.

I bought a 2011 30RE used so I have no warranty. I contacted customer service about finding what the color is on the front cap and they gave me two different color codes, neither of which can anyone turn into an actual color. I contacted them about the daylight on both side of my side when it is closed. They asked for pictures and more information, which I supplied and they have not replied. 3 or 4 weeks now. I did not bother contacting them when I discovered that the big glob of Dicor sealant that attempts to seal the joint of the roof and front cap was pulling away like crazy. I plan to repair that with the 6" tape. My biggest regret was not finding this site until after I bought!

Sure hope I can get it painted we began working with the dealer before the warranty expired so I sure hope that we can get this done sometime soon. It is amazing how much we begin to learn after only after having issues and not before!

Is the front painted or is it a gel coat?

After the repair, I think a synthetic polymere with a UV protector in it would help a lot. Something like Rejex.

Optiseal is another favourite for UV protection. Fwiw I've been using it 6 season on my parents coach which still looks new.

Dealer on the Short list.

How do I get a dealer on the short list to get them dropped or dumped from selling CR. I'm just saying.

I was told it is a gel and that was the wrong type of paint.

If you find out how to get a dealer dropped or dumped from selling CR please let me know. Our dealer was the worst and I did see complaints on the Good Sam web page after all the issues I had. I sure wish I had done that research before I purchased it from them and not another dealer.
