Started my 4+ month trip to Florida today. First stop was at Whispering Hills RV Park in Georgetown KY. If interested you can read about it on my blog and follow as I wind my way down to the Keys.http://www.tgifrv.com/2011/11/whispe...georgetown-ky/

Stopping for a cup of coffee and donut on my way out of town.

We were at Whispering Hills Monday and Tuesday nights this week on our way back to Texas. This is a nice park that has only been in operation since April of this year. Too bad we were just a couple of days a part. Would have been great to meet you.

OK, haven't updated lately, forgot I posted this here Spent a day in Atlanta to visit a friend. Spent 5 days in Savannah, stayed a Hardeeville RV Park in Hardeeville SC, $21 a night PA price, FHU and cable TV, nice park and awesome city. Now in St. Augustine for 3 days at St.John's RV Park. Park is OK, has FHU, free WiFi and cable TV for $15 a night PA price so it's an awesome deal. Heading to either Daytona Beach or Cape Canaveral after that. 1300 miles so far and no problems.

The Daytona Speedway has a very good 90 minute tour that is interesting even for non-NASCAR fans, plus the Ponce de Leon lighthouse and grounds is a great attraction.

Glad your trip is going well so far. Have a great time in FL! I'm jealous, our TT is already put away for the winter.

There is a campground south of St. Augustine , Called Beverley Beach, its right on the ocean, you park right on the Seawall and if you have a big window in the back you can sit there and watch the ocean. Nice early in the morning when the sun comes up, beautiful sight. If its really calm you can see the dolphins making their way down the coast. It is expensive though since its right on the water. We live about 60 miles from there. The campground is not fancy, does have 50amp hookup and a bathhouse.
Have a safe trip.

It's been a long time since I posted an update. I spent 10 days in the Florida Keys and then moved to Ft Myers Beach the beginning of December. I will be here in Gulf Waters RV Resort until the end of the month then moving to another park in North Ft. Myers for two months. The past two months I've put over 2500 miles on the truck and have had zero issues with my Cruiser.

To All,

See that everyone is headed to Florida. We're leaving Wisconsin onDec. 27 for south Texas stopping near Dallas with son & grandchildren for New Years. Then off to Mission, TX for 3 months. I've been retired for a while, wife's last day is tomorrow. This will be our first stay longer than 2 weeks in our 5er. Bought a new Cruiser 30ES in July of 2010 and went to Texas early last spring, no issues.

Any suggestions for our 2 day trip to the Dallas area? Could still be cold the first night.

Safe trips to everyone.

Jim from WI.
