I cleaned my roof yesterday and discovered a small tear in my roof, about the size of a quarter. How can I fix it? I went to my rv dealer and he wanted to sell me a roll of roof repair membrane for $80. Is there something else? It is on the edge where the roof raps down over the side.

I had a small hole in the side and I went to CW and got a white rubber tape. It was not eternabond tape but would think that would work too. When I first got my unit it had a roof problem and I asked how would someone fix a hole and the dealer said to glue the rubber to the plywood then cover with a twice as large with sheet metal (thin of course) and put in with screws (not to extend through the plywood) about every inch or two and cover over with sealant. Both are very do able. One thing you do not want is to have that area get any bigger as the cost of repair would rise as the hole got bigger.

If it is available to you by all means use eternabond a it is a for good repair. Just clean the area real good & apply make sure it is where you want it as you can't move it! jmho jb

You might be able to get a small piece of eternabond tape from a local RV place if you would happen to have one close.

I've used Eternabond on roof repairs on the previous rig - tree branch made some small tears in the roof one time camping (yup I didn't see it backing in), had some in the toobox and fixed er right up. Need to prep right, use acetone for that (didn't have any so stole all the wife's fingernail polish remover).

It's in the "RV Accessories" section, not in"Camping" at our Walmart.
