stuck slide

Have kitchen slide on 34 ft patriot addition that will not extent by electric, just ratchets the clutch. If you move it by hand about 1 or 2 turns it will go in and out just fine. lippert says it is motor but i find that hard to swallow since it is 2112 model with very little usage. I am more apt to think of room needs adjusting for no bind when all the way in. Any thoughts?. I took the motor off and checked the ratchet gears. This is a pretty cheesey piece that makes the rooms come and go. It has nylon gears to metal gears and clutching mechanism that is pretty simple. One dealership told me you could tighten the clutch but would not tell me how to do so..Not much there to tighten, just two concave washers that hold the clutching mechanism in place and they jump out of the bigger gear to ratchet. It is and 18/1 ratio. There is a 28 /1 ratio available would it be stronger or just faster or slower? By the way if you damage your manual tube for retracting the slide( that comes off of the motor) you can build a better one with piece of tubing at tractor supply.

18-1 means motor spins 18 times to the shaft spinning 1 time
28-1 means motor spins 28 times to the shaft spinning 1 time
Yes it would be slower but 40% more power.
I don't have a calculator its just a guess

Howdy
This has been an ongoing problem for quite some time... search the archives.

I have had the same problem with my 09 cruiser 30sk. Have had to dealer(s) several time for adjustment to no avail. As you say move it manually a bit & it works fine. Also discovered that if the BELL stopper is backed off slightly form the frame all is well for that time only. Have broken the manual rod 2x so now carry a large pipe wrench to back off the bell stopper just in case.
I wonder if the slide is just too heavy for the mechanism ie. the motor
