Smile Thanks

Have had the trailer for about a year,it was a leftover from the dealer and have been watching the forum but just joined in.Have already got lots of great advice just reading here but thought it was time to join.Have really enjoyed the trailer and though we have had some minor issues are really happy with our purchase.Must say some of the comments about Crossroads had me concerned but between my dealer and them I am happy to say all my issues have been dealt with.Bring on summer!

I had this problem on my 2012 26BL. Crossroads stepped up and replaced all the front panels.

Welcome aboard. Good to hear that Crossroads stepped up to the plate on your paint issue. A good dealer is worth it's weight in gold when it comes to dealing with warranty repairs. Sounds like you have a good one. I'm a firm believer that it's worth the money even if you have to pay a little more on the front end to buy from a dealer with a reputation for customer service.

I just experienced the paint falling off the front of my 2012 Zinger 26BH while on the way home from Labor Day camping in upper MI. I'm hoping they will fix mine as well. We love our trailer but it's not looking too nice right now

I just received an email back from Tom at Crossroads and he said because the warrenty is out and I'm the second owner that they will not assist in the repair of my paint falling off. I can't help but feel very let down. Is it unreasonable for me to expect that the paint should not fall off of this 2012 trailer? I love everything about this trailer and it fits my families need and beyond but now the front looks like I don't take care of it. Feeling very let down by this. Any suggestions?

Your expectations are reasonable, but unfortunately Tom have a very valid point since you bought your unit used. If you were original owner, they may have helped.

Suggestion is to maybe see if they will ship you panels, and you can pay to have them put on? That, or visit body shops and see how much to repaint front wall only.

Unhappy Peeling paint

I'm new here and accidentally posted this to the wrong threat somehow before posting here.

Here are the pictures of my 2012 Zinger 26BH that I submitted to Crossroads about my paint problem. They said because I was the second owner that they won't assist in fixing this problem. They told me that even if I were the original owner it would be out of warranty. I guess they don't feel that the paint should last more then 3 years. This paint came off in a rain storm on my way home from Labor Day camping. I can't help but feel extremely let down and frustrated by this. This is a very nice trailer and we love it but this is a huge bummer. Now it looks as though we don't take care of it or care about it which neither is true.

That's a bummer! As the original owner, we got new panels for our Z-1 sent and repaired under warrantee but the local shop did such a bad job, Crossroads offered to refit again down at the factory. I'm not suggesting everyone does this but we're heading down to Topeka tomorrow although it's a ten-hour drive for us. We're turning it into a vacation! Don't forget to have your repair shop order new white corner strips with the panels. To take off and re-glue the old ones does not work!! Check out my pictures above. Good luck!

I understand they have a valid point in the rule that the warranty doesn't extending to the second owner so there really isn't anything I can do. I was just hoping they would do the right thing and fix it for me since it is obvious they had a paint problem because others have experienced the same issue. Feeling like a step child (second owner), LOL.

Was it showing any sign of peeling when you bought it?

No, it was like new still when we bought it. The original owner only had it about a year and used it 3 times. He was going through a divorce so had to get rid of it. The awning, oven and microwave were never used before I bought it. It looked as thought he took excellent care of it and he went over everything with me as this is my first camper. He was very helpful and explained to me in detail how to take care of things and how to use it. I am so bummed out by this. I will still enjoy the camper with my family and will eventually get over it I guess. I just wish it could look as nice as it once did.

No signs when we bought it last June (2013). After the winter ice and snow melted off, it revealed loose flakes had fallen off with the Spring melt looking very much like StevM's Zinger after Labour Day. Interestingly, the manufacturing date was October 2011 and considred a 2012 model just like StevM's. Our Z-1 had been sitting on the dealer lot for at least a year and had survived the previous winter snows. Maybe 2011/12 was a bad year for the manufacture of these panels. Crossroads must be painfully aware of that now!

I bought mine in late Oct 2013 and it sat all winter. I took it out of storage in June 2014 and took it to Branson MO. No issues and it still looked as good as new. I traveled up to Ellsworth MI for Labor Day and on the way back is when all of this came off in a rain storm. It's not like this was over time, it just all came off while traveling home last weekend.

Might be time to go to a sign company and have our own design placed on the front

Steve,

Sorry to hear they're not helping you out. The upside to aluminum sided trailers is the panels are relatively easier to remove/repair if you're handy.

There are forums out there for refurbishing aluminum sided trailers. I'm betting a body shop could pull off those panels and shoot them with some paint to match. I'd go back to Crossroads and see if they could send you the decals on the house.

There are many stories on the forum of people who have issues that are not really repairable without significant repair/replacement of skins..like water damage. This is something that is fixable and cosmetic. It is a really sharp trailer! I know its really a bummer but i'd fix it if it were me. Its practically new.

Can Crossroads send you a few spray cans of your color. Or, the paint code.
