Manual Slide Operation

Does anyone know how to manually operate the slide? On my way home from my last trip I had a blow out that ended up ripping out some wiring for the slide. I didn't notice it at the time and am trying to go out this weekend and once we got set up and started taking out the slide it wouldn't go. It has 2 motors and the front motor works, but the back one doesn't. It's a 2012 3612 model and it is the living room slide.

I've looked all over and can't find the motor or an access point for it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info, I had searched for videos and had not seen that one. The only problem is my slideout is pushed all the way in and I want to push it out. That screw he is talking about is not accessible because the lip of the slide is pushed all the way in.

Can you splice or repair the wire to the motor to get it working again?

I have looked at that too. I can see the wire for the motor coming out of the bottom of the slide, but I can't find the end that it broke from. I think the wires were routed through a hole in the frame and I can't see behind the frame.

Another less favorable option is to disconnect the motors from the control box and PUSH the slide out.
I have done this before and it CAN be done, just need a bit of muscle to do it.
With the motors plugged in it is "locked" in place. Disconnect the motors and the slide moves freely. once moved out reconnect the motors.

This is going to be the only way to move it if a wire is disconnected. Otherwise you will have to get it serviced.

So are you saying that the motor frees up when there is no power to it? If that is the case since the power cable to it is not connected to anything I should be able to push that side out now without disconnecting anything.

For the schwintek slides: There is more than two wires connected to the motor. I believe it is four or five. +\- and two other position wires. The plug had to be disconnected for it to work.
One of my wires broke on motor #2. It was not the power or ground. The only way to get it to move was to disconnect the plug.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, that last document was a big help. I finally decided to just fix it myself.

First I had to remove the undercarriage liner and find the wires that had broken off behind the frame. That was probably the hardest part since they were not run together with the front motor, but cut through the holding tanks. Once I found it I went to Home Depot to buy some wire. My concern was that I would have 5 different wires that would all have to be wrapped to not fall apart. As I was looking I saw thermostat wire. It was one wrapped wire with 5 different wires inside it all 18 gauge. Back at the RV I spliced it in routed it through the protective covering out the frame and spliced it in to the motor cord. I have to be honest I held my breath when I went inside to extend it. It worked perfectly. I really couldn't believe my good luck. So 18/5 thermostat wire saved the day.

Nice job! I like to do most of the work myself as well. beats paying over a $100 dollars an hour and you get to know your trailer better
