The ceiling trim above the sofa on my 27RB is loose. It looks like the only support for the trim are the two lights and brackets over the sofa.I removed one of the lights and the factory install was bad.The holes were drilled but each hole was only partially into the thin wood ceiling above. They failed. The bracket for the light was to be installed with the screws hitting the ceiling above.Even if the screws were installed correctly into the ceiling I do not see how a screw into on quarter inch plywood could support anything in an RV for an extended period of time.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Need some ideas.
Thank-you.

It did the same on my 2012 GT29BH.

If you mean the half round wood shape on the ceilling, I had mine coming apart from the white ceilingin the ends. It was the one on the door side.

I bought some no nail glue and squeezed it in between the ceiling and the wood shape.

Done that last week and went out only one time. So far it seems to hold.

I will have to do the one over the sofa as well as it is coming apart too.

Hope this helps,

Had the same issue with my 2011 29BH....looks like they just stapled this piece to the ceiling at the factory. No way that would ever hold up.

I used some of the white Gorilla glue to reattach and so far so good (6+ months).

DV and gadou were did you apply the glue and how did you brace the trim for the glue to set?
Did you apply the glue up to the edge of the trim and then cover it with caulk?
Thank-you

I used masking tape.

I pulled the trim down to insert enough glue, pressed it and put tape.

When I do the other one I will jam a piece of wood between the trim and the top of my slideout. It will be better than tape.

After all that, a little bead of white sealant around it and it will be better than new.

I guess we don't pay quite enough to have good craftsmanship in these units.... Good thing is it's an easy fix.

On the slide side, I put the glue 1" deep on the edge and used a few door shims to wedge it tightly between the top of the slide crown molding and the glued panel edge (slide must be in to do this). The white Gorilla glue tends to swell a bit as it drys, so I had a damp cloth handy to smooth out the glue that seeped out. Once dried, the while Gorrilla glue looks just like thewhite latexcaulk the factory uses, but holds ten times better.

On the opposite side, I cut a scrap 2x4 a little longer than the ceiling height and used it brace the glued panel to the ceiling as it dried.

Hope this helps..........DV

Thank-you DV and gadou.
I will use the glue method along with trying to firmly affix the light bracket to the ceiling.
My unit is only two years old. LOOKS LIKE A POOR DESIGN AND/OR WORKMANSHIP.

Thanks for posting this info, it reminded me that I have to fix this issue in my 29BH. Itlooks like I'll be heading out to find some gorilla glue and 2x4's.
