Hi,

At the top of the page there is a banner that says this forum is available in Tapatalk, but it can't be found in Tapatalk...

What's up?

I sent this to the help desk. Maybe we will get and answer.
If my memory serves me right, this was asked once before.

I guess I would be showing my age and my lack of internet savvy by asking just what the heck 'Tapatalk' is, wouldn't I?

We are rolling out our Branded version of Tapatalk on our sites, but like many 3rd party products, it has it's share of bugs.

Once these bugs are resolved on our first sites, then it will be rolled out on our other sites.

You may find a generic version of Tapatalk, but it's not our Branded version and it may not work properly. There is no support for the generic version.

To be honest, I was waiting for someone else to ask the same question.

I assume it is some kinda of texting app? One could go right to site with a smart phone so I don't know.

Tapatalk is an app (application) for smart phones and tablets.

It provides basic forum use, but is not intended nor is it capable of duplicating everything the forum has to offer.

It's benefit is that it's quicker and easier to use on a smart phone.

I have the app, I can't find this forum when I search, and if I hit the use app button on the top of this page it says not available. Why is this an option if it is not available? Will it be available soon?

Exactly my point. When you visit the forum using a web browser on your phone/tablet, the page says this forum is available on Tapatalk and even gives you the option to OPEN the forum in Tapatalk. When you click "OK" it comes back with "Not available"...

Tapatalk makes it real easy to navigate forums on the mobile devices. It's very easy to use and keeps you logged in and in sync across the sites. If someone replies to a thread you started, the app lets you know you have a response in real time.

This is very handy when you are stuck and in need of help and not sitting by your PC.

So....back to Route 66...are you saying you DO have support for the branded TAPATALK app? I'm confused by your response and the reality that I can't find it.

Cheers,

Matt.

We will have support for our branded Tapatalk, but Tapatalk is not available on this forum yet.

This is being handled by our tech guys working with Tapatalk, so I don't have all the answers.

The way I understand it is; Social Knowledge (the owner of this and other forums) contracted with Tapatalk to provide the app on many of our forums.

Tapatalk initially loads all of our forum names into their database and after that, each forum's branded version must be programmed.

It's this initial database load that causes the Tapatalk message to appear even though it's not yet available.

Thank you for the explanation. hopefully it will come to this forum soon. There are alot of times I can not access this forum thru a computer, and trying to use the browser on a smart phone is cumbersome at best. Tapatalk make life on the go so much easier.

This post has answered my question. Do you know if the same people also run Forest River Forums? I know that app had a few bugs, but most have been straightened out.
