These mats are really amazing. I use them all the time at home.

Not trying to rain on your parade here, but you can't put silicone mats over an open flame grill, the bottom of the oven, or under a broiler.

Can't go above 500 degrees on the ones I use. They can and will burn.

I saw those. I have to wonder though if they are safe? Any leaching of chemicals or compounds into your food?

I read they cause memory loss but cant' remember where

All seriousness, I've not read anything bad about them. Can't be much worse than cooking in Aluminum.

That's true. Aluminum, Teflon, and the various other non-stick coatings are supposedly not good for you. Reality is, it probably doesn't matter cause everything these days reportedly causes cancer. You can't even cook meat on a stick. The charring causes cancer. Oh well...this is the look on my face every time I eat one.
