Just want to confirm the Cruiser does NOT have a water filter? I took a look around for one just before winterizing and did not find one but I did find something under the bathroom cabinet and don't have a clue what it is. I asked my neighbours and they were stumped too. It has a water line going up to some type of metal fitting then a water line going back down under the floor. could it be a high vent for the fresh water tank?

The cruiser does not have a built in water filter. As I recall the object under the bathroom vanity is either a vent or a vacuum break, someone else on here will know for sure.

It is a vacuum breaker for the flush on the black tank.

This prevents contamination should the public drinking water system's pressure drop, while using the flush feature on your black tank. Basically, itkeeps water from being siphoned backward into the public drinkingsystem.

when I use the flush feature does water go thru this device? Or is it off of a tee?

Matt, I can only "assume" it is plumbed like mine, & the water goes through it. It is the same type that isrequired on some plumbing codes, for dishwashers, underneath your home kitchen sink.

I'm sure your trailer would be plumbed the same as mine.
would that be the same as a 'cheater vent' for household plumbing? -sucks air in but seals odors in???

Matt, we may be talking about 2 different things. Here is a link to the "cheater vent". I have this & a vacuum breaker with the hose, to my black tank flush.

thats the cheater vent I was talking about... I see they call it a 'check vent'. I didn't think that my unit had any of those since the tanks are vented thru the roof. I will have to do some more investigation on that plumbing. But thanks for the info.

I have 2 gray tanks & 1 black tank, & only have 2 vents on the roof. The shower & bath sink use the "check vent".

We have two black and two gray tanks. The rear tanks vent through the roof at the fridge vent. I have an odor inside at the rear of the coach. Yesterday I talked to my RV repair guy about a fix. He said to replace the check vent then put a mixture of five gallons water, one cup of bleach plus a good amount of Dawn dish detergent into the offending gray tank. After driving it enough to slosh it around the tank (a city block or two) let it sit overnight then dump. That is my task for today. He charged $2.79 for a new check vent.
