Freezer

Anyone using a small freezer in the storage area of your unit? We'd like to take a little more of the garden with us when we go south for the winter. what brands and size work for you?

Get one of those small 5 cubic foot chest models and throw it in the back of the truck.

We met some people in our park in Florida and one time they had a combination 12V/120V freezer they used. Remember, you have to get the stuff down there in a frozen state. The second time they had just a regular freezer inside the unit. The former are pretty expensive and are usually combination fridge/freezers. Inside the unit, they put it at the end of their kitchen island, partially under the counter. They have the same model of trailer as we do.

We have a small chest freezer in Florida (leave it in a friend's shed) which we put outside our unit and use down there. We don't bring a lot of food with us, we buy at Sam's Club down there and use the freezer to store that.

We have a Coleman chest cooler that runs on DC, or AC, with the adapter.
It will keep stuff 40 degrees cooler/colder then outside temp. I don't know how big of a unit you are thinking of.

These work pretty good. AC/DC and actually have a compressor and way better then the thermoelectric ones.

The thermoelectric fridge freezers are junk. Save your money.

X2. They keep it 40 deg below ambient. That's great if you are in Alaska in the winter. But in the summer if the temp is in the 90's the "freezer" is in the 50's, not exactly freezer temperature.
