Unhappy ac problem

This is the second trip this year, that this has happened to me. My Cruiser's ac runs fine for a day, then the next day the fan will run, but the ac does not cycle to cool. I shut the ac down for about 5 minutes, start it up, and it then works fine.
Any ideas or something to look for??

All help is appreciated.

Do you have any means of checking the starting capacitor?

Not really, but since I restarted it 4 hours ago, it has stayed on.
