Second air conditioner

I have a crossroads longhorn edition and I'm wanting to add a second ac has anyone with these models done this themselves? Is it per wired already in the bedroom vent and is it ducted? Any help or tips would be appreciated.

I added the second A/C a few months ago. If your unit is pre-wired there will be a junction box in the ceiling next to the standard 14x14 vent with a snap-on cover over it. Also you will have the Dometic CCC2 thermostat that can handle multiple A/Cs and there will be a remote sensor mounted on the bedroom wall. If so, I can tell you what Dometic models will work with the existing thermostat.

If your unit is not pre-wired, then you will have to snake 110V power up to the vent and probably use a separate 20 amp power cord for the 2nd A/C. And you can use just about any brand/model A/C you wish, but most likely a unit with built-in controls otherwise you will have to run more wire and mount another thermostat on an interior bedroom wall.

This is my 5th RV in Texas over 25 years, all had just a single A/C. I did order the 2011 Cruiser pre-wired, but it took me over 3 yrs to getting around to adding the 2nd unit.

Assuming your floor plan has a front clothes closet, you should be able to snake the 110V power from the vent, thru the ceiling and into the closet. Then down the forward wall and thru the closet floor and out the pin box opening. The closet plywood floor is attached directly to the steel frame, no insulation or anything else directly above the pin box opening.

Alternatively, there may be small triangular, carpeted panels at each corner of the closet. They are secured with several screws. You can gain access to the backside of the fiberglas front cap. You could mount a twist-type power connector on the bottom of the front cap.

Right, that outlet is on a 15 amp breaker that serves all bedroom outlets and probably the bathroom and maybe a basement outlet as well. The roof top A/C needs to be on a dedicated 20 amp breaker.

Its hot. My 5er is 50 amp and is wired and braced for a second air conditioner. The existing AC is an Airxcel 48000 Series with an Airxcel dual zone thermostat/controller, Do you guys have any recommendations for the second AC that would integrate with the existing system?
