Humming noise behind switch panel

Does anyone have a problem with a humming noise behind the switch panel when you have a few lights on? I have the double light over the table on and another light on over the counter, open the refrigerator door and the noise starts. Close the door and it stops. Turn on 3 or more lights it starts up again, turn one light off it stops. I discovered this problem when the unit was new then found a post on this site with someone having the same problem but do not recall what their solution was. I called CR and they just said have it checked.

It sounds like the converter running. We get it just like you do.

Sounds like it is your converter keeping up with the demand. the more lights you turn on the harder the converter works. You should hear the fan on the converter running. If only a humming and no fan noise, I would open the panel and see if the fan is working, you may need to replace it. Changing your bulbs to LED will reduce the load on the converter and help keep things quiet.

I think the humming you hear "is" the fan for the converter. The more lights you turn on, the faster the fan will run to keep the converter cool.

if the battery is older you should replace it and the convertor will run less.
