Unfortunately I have to replace my AC. (Note: I have also posted this on RV.net).

Thanks guys for all the help and suggestions in my earlier post concerning my AC troubles.

PPL and Camping World are within $17 of each other on the total drive out price for the same AC (Dometic Duo-Therm Brisk Air II B59516) and the installation.

Both have said they will make an appointment and will have me in and out in approx 2 hours....so I only have to make one trip.

They are both about the same distance from my house. I have never had any service done at either.

Who should I choose....Camping World in Katy Texas or PPL in South West Houston???

I had CW install an air con on my unit and happy with the install. If they are that close I would think about if warranty work CW is all over the place and PPL may only be in one or few locations.

Just my 2 cents

I have thought about warranty....and the warranty would be through Dometic, so I would only need to find a certified Dometic service center....and Dometic said they would assist me in finding oneif I was on the road.

Terry, it looks like a toss up between the two. I would choose the one the easiest to get to from your place and go there.

The Katy CW is a terrible place. Avoid at all cost. Seriously tried to screw us buying a used Class A. Through the intervention of Marcus Lemonis we got a brand new Class A at his cost but, unfortunately, it had to be delivered through Katy. They were just awful. Incompetent and full of non truths.

Terry, on second thought we did have a bad experience with the CW in New Braunfels to the point I had to get Marcus Lemonis (CW CEO) involved to get our trailer fixed after being promised one thing after another and it not happening. I did swear them off for any future service work after what we had to go through. I have heard good things about PPL's service department.

I live in Houston and have had good experiences and purchases at PPL both online and in store. Haven't had service. Cannot say about CW.

I've never used PPL for service, but always good experience ordering parts. When they did make a mistake one time, they bent over backwards to make it right! Personally, I would go to PPL before CW. CW has had too many complaints for my taste.
