I am sure you will get it dialed in. I am always amazed at the way you have a grasp on the numbers.

Really gorgeous new home-on-wheels! Love the layout, the finishes are all high-end, lots of windows, a real queen bed, and even a nice bike-rack on the back. Who could ask for anything more?! Congratulations and happy camping!

That grasp on the numbers resulted from learning the hard way the first time. We had to weigh our old armada what seemed like a hundred times to get the wdh dialed in. Somewhere in that process the physics of what was happening kicked in and I learned the math behind towing safely. It was an expensive lesson but one well worth the money.

Ok so here are real world numbers obtained today. These were obtained with a full tank of fuel, family in the TV, and 5er loaded with everything except food.
Truck no trailer (reese 16k hitch in bed)--
Front axle 4900 lbs
Rear axle 3380 lbs
Total truck weight 8280 lbs

Truck with sabre attached
Front axle 4900 lbs
Rear axle 6000 lbs
Trailer 9760 lbs
Total combined weight 20,660 lbs

Truck specs
Gvwr 11,600 lbs
GCWR 24,500 lbs
GFAWR 5600 lbs
GRAWR 7050 lbs

So it looks like I have a 5er weight of 12,380 lbs and it looks like my pin weight is 2620 lbs. My available payload without 5er was 3320 lbs so I'm well within specs.

Measurements
Truck no trailer, front wheel well 40", rear wheel well 42 1/2"
Truck with sabre attached front wheel well 40 1/2", rear wheel well 40"
There is 7 1/2" clearance between the bed rails and the 5er.
The front and rear corners of 5er both measured 26". I forgot to measure the kingpin height and will have to get that another day.

I'm thinking I might be a tad nose high. The reese is currently on its highest setting. I'm thinking of dropping it one hole.

By the way what should I be greasing on this hitch and with what type of grease? They did not give me an owner's manual for it. I'm guessing g I should grease the kingpin but that is just a guess. Thanks

You don't need grease. This disc should last years and you don't get dirty from grease.

This is what you need to on the 5er.

This just stays on the kingpin?

Yes. I use a dry lube on just king pin. Disc works great mine is 4 years old.
Lowering hitch may help with nose high. You stated 7,5" of rail clearance so dropping the hitch one position will still leave good clerance.

Still favor air bags if you decide to go that route to add a leveling quality to your rig.

The rear of my truck drops about the same as your, abt 2-3". I never measured it. That puts it on the overload spring where it rides nicely. Since the truck started out tail high that levels it and all is well. If the trailer is still nose high you can move the pin-box up one notch. Just be careful if that's what you are going to do as it's HEAVY and will have to be supported while moving the bolts.
