Last I heard you were going to get your 5er back around Christmas, just wondering if you did.

Yup got it back. It's still got issues. Some issues, like the slides were fixed. Some issues were stated as fixed but were blatantly not done, some things were stated to be normal that clearly were not normal, and some damage in transit occurred. We were really unhappy and I went up the chain a bit. We have come to an amicable solution that I've agreed not to make public knowledge but they did make me happy again. I will be getting a couple of more urgent things fixed at the dealership and the reminder fixed at the factory rally in August.

It really surprises me how all these RV manufacturers seem to drag their feet when it comes to fixing their product after it is sold...Some more than others... It makes you wonder how much money do you have to spend, on an RV, before getting the camper off the assembly line is NOT the main considertion, and the QUALITY of the unit takes over as the main objective... I am starting to beleive it is someplace in the class A line of campers. Not in the entrey level of class A but somewhere near $200,000 level... Boy I hope I am wrong as I know I will never be able to afford that level of RV...
Aileen
I hope you get all your issues addressed...

Been a while, but Happy New Year to you all! We are looking into our reservations at Twin Grove for May and have been coordinating calendars and time off for the summer season. See you all soon!

Aileen, hope the major problems were repaired and you can make it through the camping season without any issues.
This just goes to show that problems with Rv's is not limited to Crossroads. Fill in the name of any Rv manufacturer and you will find quality control problems, dealer problems, and even repair at the factory problems.
It just seems like it's a crap shoot from whatever Rv brand you purchase.

Mark I agree it really doesn't matter what brand you buy or how much you spend. They all make great trailers and they all make lemons. It is a crapshoot on quality. The key is too find a manufacturer that is willing to work with you. I can say crossroads took care of my old tt. Forest river is taking care of me and trying to make things right. I respect that in a company and as a result I have chosen to make lemonade out of the lemon that I'm holding. The only things that can't last until the rally are the damage to the slide trim and the leaking toilet. The trim to the slide is hanging off. The toilet seal won't hold water. Everything else that is left is relatively minor enough to wait on.

there appears to be NO quality control, unless, as Tommy said, you are going to the upper end of the line. We had and have some issues with the Winnebago and the Beckley RV is taking care of us. They even recommend that we continue to really look over the rv and write all down so they can clear up any further issues before the factory warranty runs out in May.

Walt, sorry your having issues. I'm glad they are taking care of you. It further proves the necessity to have a good dealership.

Doesn't have to be a dealer...I had my last warranty issue taken care of by an independent RV service center...I think they did a very good job, but only time will tell...I will also use them again if the need arises...

Mine has been at dealership for 2 months now for the skylight and to have front cap painted. Other than taking so damn long I do like my dealer. My front cap looks nice. They got CR to agree to take care of skylight AND replace back wall out of warranty! They also said they would pack wheel bearings for free (they offered, I didn't ask). They are also putting the Maxair covers on vents while they are up on the roof at a good discount. They have also called me about every two weeks to keep me updated. Should be done in another week they said. Having said all this, I think the dealer can make or break your experience with any manufacturer.

Warm weather??? I want some of whatever you're smokin'! It's been really cold here for almost a month now! I can gauge the cold temps by the amount of bird seed and corn I go thru in my 10 bird feeders and the deer feeder. WOW!

Yup. We have plans to give the rig a post factory repair shakedown trip this weekend at a campground 10 min from home. They are calling for highs in the low 50s. Should be great campfire weather.

Now I KNOW I want some of whatever you are smoking! Of course, maybe your thermometer needs to be recalibrated...or your feet! I'm OK at 20 or higher. Below 20 is a little chilly, especially when I have to let my one toilet "dribble" all the time so the water line doesn't freeze.

Cool here in FL but I think we will survive until this weekend when it is supposed to creep up into the 70s.
