New Sunset Trail 290QB…New family of campers in NC!!

We are currently awaiting the delivery of our 2015 Sunset Trail 290QB and couldn't be more excited AND nervous! We have never pulled a TT before but luckily the dealer is planning a "test drive" with us to teach my husband the basics!

We are planning our inaugural camping trip next weekend!! Suggestions needed as far as do's and don'ts for first timers!! LOL…

Make sure you guys do a "GOOD" PDI before accepting the trailer. Preferably before you sign or pay.
Here is a link for the PDI Print it out so you remember what to do.

Thats a great resource!

Our dealer already knows I am VERY particular and expect things to be as promised! This list helps me even more!

Thank you!!!

Plan on spending most of a day going over everything. If you have kids get a babysitter, you don't need the distraction. Take a video camera and tape how to operate everything.

X2 on the video idea. I did so with my point & shoot camera, HD quality and portable to take with just in case; Cell phone would work the same. I found it especially helpful reviewing hitching & unhitching procedures. Used it once or twice, practiced when I got it home and never looked back.

Take it out to a large parking lot and practice backing it up. Be prepared for one to be outside directing while the other is driving.

Lots of nice folks here, don't be afraid to ask questions. I'm still learning by reading the experiences of others and taking mental notes. Most of all, enjoy.

My problem with the mental notes is the notepad gets erased when I go to sleep....
