Replacement Door Glass?
On our new STR33BD, I'd like to replace the obscure entry door glass with clear/tinted. On this model of trailer, there are only two small tinted windows on that side of the trailer, both at either end and not easy to utilize to see who's at the door. Has anybody done this? I checked the LCI site and they only show obscure replacement glass. My guess is that I'll end up going to my local glass dealer for a piece of tempered/tinted glass, but I wanted to check here first to see if anyone has done this. Thanks!

Yes, it has been done. I remember reading where some have even went the stained glass route.
I believe cwit changed the glass in his door.
I don't think it will be that big a job.

Thanks Lloyd! I did a couple searches, but came up with nothing... I'll dig some more.

If you find or figure it out I will be interested as to where to find the glass and how difficult it is to replace. I only have the small kitchen or bedroom window to see out that side of TT. The tinted glass like the rest of the windows would be perfect.

Evergreen trailers have a window that goes top to bottom , was thinking of finding one that size ,cutting the door window opening bigger and putting it in. just a thought.

Wow, those evergreens are nice trailers. Never heard of them before your post.
Before going through all that, have you ever considered modifiying your existing door with custom cut glass? Seems like it would be easier to find a pro glass cutter to adapt your door versus pulling the door and frame. Structurally modifying the wall of the trailer for another door sounds like trouble to me, but just my two cents.

I think he meant modifying the door, but still - new glass sounds simple enough. Post pics if completed folks!

I have replaced the glass in our entry door. It is very easy to do. I Ordered the same size and thickness tempered glass from a glass shop. If anyone does this you may need to replace the foam tape seal around the glass. Also when you take out the original glass and put the new one in have someone help you as the glass can slide out easily.

Good to know, are you going to cut a vertical crossection through the the existing door to match how the Evergreen trailers look>
That will look cool.
By the way, I was trying to remember the other brand that had full length doors on their trailers...It was Open Range. Albeit they don have screen doors, rather a screen window that you can crank out the glass a couple inches to move air. Kind of neat.

I knew somebody had done this mod. Just couldn't bring it back.
In case you missed it on his previous post, here is the link to it.

I agree that they are pricey. I do like the glass so I am going to take off the inside frame and measure it and go a glass shop and get a price just to compare. The foam tape is easily avalible.

I took it apart this past weekend and it's a very easy modification. Our local glass shop quoted approximately $60 for tempered tinted glass. Way cheaper than CW if you just reuse your existing frame. Now I just have to go order it...
