It will be nice and bright in there. Looks good. You keep going like that, you are going to work yourself right out of a job.

Well, we are not yet moved in. Decided to try and finish all the odds and ends before tackling the task of cleaning and waxing the floors. So, windows sills are done. Three ceiling fans are up. Brackets for closets and pantry are installed. All inside staining and varnishing is completed. What remains to be done inside is a couple more ceiling fans and lights, mirrors and TV mount. Here is a pic of the bathroom with the $10.59 pedestal sink.

Move-in day is almost here. Yesterday we put sealer on the floors with a recommended 72 hr. cure time. So we will move in Sunday, April 1st, just a few days short of 7 months after the fire. I will still have a number of things to finish up. This may be the last pic before the Texas rally.

Well maybe another pic when I hang the 55" flat screen TV.

Larry,
Looks really good, great job! I'm wondering if we can get a shower like that in our CR's? It really looks nice...good luck on the move in this weekend.

We moved in the 1st of the month with a number of things to still finish. Made some good progress until last Friday, the 13th when I had to have emergency surgery. So we were forced to cancel plans for the Texas rally this weekend and I still have several more weeks of recovery. But all is well, after almost 7 months in the Cruiser, the house seems pretty big. And the down time will allow me to work on our taxes and document losses from the fire.

Good to hear that things are going well. Hopefully the recovery time will go by quickly and you will be back to normal soon.

We miss seeing your and Eileen's smiling faces here at the rally.

How you doing down there Larry? Hopefully getting healed up. Did any of that rain go thru your area?

We received about 2.2 inches of rain this week, so that is a big help. My recovery is going fine and I'm getting more small things taken care of every day. I've also resumed my volunteer work, but the team decided I should be the 'project leader' to keep me from working too hard.

I'm scheduled to take the Cruiser back to the dealer at the end of the month for a number of minor issues. Then, hopefully in July we will go to Durango, Co. for another work project.

Well, It was finally time to take the Cruiser to the dealer for some much needed attention. What a treat at 5:30 am to step thru the door into the garage, turn on the lights and get the trailer ready to roll, while still wearing my slippers. Then open the garage doors and hook up the truck.

Then the second treat was pulling into the dealership and a few min. later having 'gball' pull in behind me. Great conversation time, thanks George.

I really enjoyed visiting with you and glad to see that you are doing well. Hope to see you and Eileen at a campground or rally in the not to far distant future.

UPDATE, we have been in the new house for 7 months. Still some minor interior and exterior items pending. Closet doors, paint the front columns, texture and paint the garage wall, repair one bad circuit, etc. And there are still some big tasks, resurface the fire damaged garage floor, insulate the garage walls, driveway/landscaping repairs. Right now I'm building an out-building to protect the well, pump and storage tank. And in my spare time I'm cutting and burning dead trees, about 180, mostly Live Oaks. I'm leaving the stumps for now, while the trees are dead, the root systems have put out new suckers. With the ongoing drought, additional fire damaged trees are dying.

We did make two volunteer jobs this year, 5 weeks in Durango, Co and 3 weeks in N. Texas. The new setup works great, loading or unloading the Cruiser w/o ever stepping outside. We are hoping to make another job early in Jan.

We definitely like the new setup. Here it is, 35 degrees with sleet outside and we are getting the Cruiser ready to leave tomorrow. With everything under one roof, we can load up the camper and stay dry and reasonably warm. All the slide outs and baggage doors are open for loading. Truck and trailer are side-by-side for checking tire pressures. Even have a water faucet for putting a few gallons of water in the fresh water tank.

It sounds like you have the pefect setup Larry. Good luck in your travels in the New Year. Keep us posted on the travels. I am watching the WC right now and see you are getting sleet so travel carefully.

Larry, It DOES sound like you planned the new house and storage area well. I wouldn't wish to have a fire, but it would be nice to plan new house and RV storage from scratch and make everything perfect. Well done!
