fuses for landing gears

Being you reverse positive and negative to get 12 volt motors to go up and down. do you need a fuse on plus and minus? I have two inline 30 amp fuses back to back on the positive, and nothing on negative. Does that sound right?
Thanks

I have not located the fuses on ours. On our previous trailer there was only one in-line fuse.

The fuse did blow once when the batteries were about dead and I tried to use the landing gear motor. I did not have a spare fuse so I had to crank the landing gear by hand.
