Has anyone replaced the electrical power control box in a

CF28 or CF 29. </span>It’s the box that has all

the DC fuses and AC CB’s.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

I had a RV shop do some electrical work and just found out

this past week-end that it is a total mess. The end result is having to replace

my entire electrical service panel. The insulator block was completely destroyed

which causes several of the CB’s to make direct contact with the back part of

the box, thus causing a direct short.

The CF28’s do not have room to add a 4th AC

Breaker and you have to continually turn off the air condg when using a

hairdryer, microwave, elec kettle. The earlier CF 29’s had the same problem but

have room to add a 4th breaker which helps resolve most of the problem.

I’m curious as which replacement unit you bought,

Parallux which is the OEM, or WFCO. Both units appear to be top of line and

both require some enlargement of the rough opening by some two inches wider.

Any info is appreciated.

First of all, you should be going back to the RV shop and raise particular hell with the Service Manager.

As for the actual panel itself, a set of pictures would be good. Our CF30SK came with a WFCO 8955 converter, so it's possible that's what you have.

I changed the breakers in the 120V panel the individual breakers for the heavy loads and kept the twin 15A breaker for the wall receptacles. Here is a picture of the replacement breakers in the panel.

I did as the picture is above also.. Stopped the tripping. Runs cooler also.
I have a WFCO WF8955AN and it has the same slots as above picture. 5 slots for breakers.

I would try your luck with the RV place that did the work.. Maybe get a new one. If you don't want to go that route i usually don't trust anyone, I would do it myself for the same reason and troubles you are having. Unless you are uncomfortable doing electrical work, If so, you shouldn't. If you get stuck with the install, take some picture and post them here and we can guide you along.
