Floors....

Greetings all.
I'm putting styroboard insulation in the basement of my 2011 Crusier Patriot CF31REP. Any body know how thick the plywood subfloor is? (Under the Bedroom). Don't want to run a screw up into the carpet.
Thanks......

Yeah, I'm considering that too, just thinking of if i EVER have to take it back off for any reason..... Screws and washers would be cleaner.....

Since you are worried about plywood thickness, sounds like you are placing the foam board between the floor joist. I used the blue foam high density type and cut each piece to the exact size needed, pushed it in place and then ran a small bead of clear caulk around the edges. This has stayed in place just fine, but could be removed easily with a utility knife if necessary.

I did just about the same thing as Larry, only I didn't use the caulk. Mine have stayed in place OK.

Yep, between the joists they go....with 2.5 in. of depth on those bad boys, I should be able to stack to at LEAST R-17 ! I'll be extra toasty....After sealing up my A/C Pipes, I found all kinds of space to blow extra insulation in the roof....I know a guy......Thanks for all the ideas.

I used Aluminum Foil Tape to hold it in place. The foam had backing too - 4' X8" sheet and I cut to size. Purchased at Lowe's
