water input modification

I've got a 2010 Cruiser that like most have the city water input in the front storage compartment. I would like to modify it where I do not have to remove the round plastic door and run the end of the hose into the compartment every time I hookup. In other words I want to locate the male hose fitting that's in the compartment to the outside.

I would appreciate any ideas on ways to do this. Right now I'm visualizing a plate mounted on the round access door fitting and then the appropriate plumbing fittings mounted to the plate. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Something you could do is put a bulkhead fitting through the pan next to the access hole and run a short hose to your city fill connection from the bulk head. Then under the trailer run another piece of hose to a standard city water fill connection that you can get at any rv parts store and mount that somewhere in your skirting.

Or another idea would be to mount the city fill connetion in the side wall and reroute the city fill line to your new fitting.

OK, this is similar to what I had in mind. I want to use the existing black round compartment fitting and use either wood or plastic or aluminum (a round wheel shaped) to screw to the top or bottom and a bulkhead hose fitting.

On the outside I'm going to use a normally open, 12 vdc solenoid controlled, water valve. I always shut my water off if I'm going to be away from the trailer for any length of time. Pipe breakage and flooding are a big fear. this way I can shut off/turn on from inside the trailer with a switch.
