First decide if you want to go N, S, E, or W? Then go. When tired find a place to stop. If you like it spend a few days looking around then move on. Most mapping programs will list points of interest along the way. If they look interesting, stop.

I have been micro-managed most of my life and it ain't happening now. We are leaving ~7/1 and heading south until we feel like stopping. We have 2 hard dates. July 10 in Austin, Tx for 2-3 days and St Louis, Mo July 19 for 6 days. The rest is free form, be back in Aug sometime, maybe.

I was looking up info on Mt Rushmore today. It was 79 there and sunny. 94 here in IL, and 87 in Sarasota. Humidity was 50, 59, and 57 respectively.
