30A Power Cord

I stopped in at the local salvage store (they sell overstocks, salvaged goods from haulers, etc.), and they had a shelf with a bunch of 30A RV power cords. They had regular 25' cords and right angle 30' cords like this, http://www.delcity.net/store/Right-A...rdset/p_801239. They are all new in original packaging. I think they were selling the 25' cords for $30 or $35. The 30' right angle cords were $40. I thought having a spare would be a good idea, so I'm going back to get one of the 30' cords.

That's great prices. these things run close to 100 bucks everywhere. Make sure they're not dry rotted. check for cracks.

I got an additional 30a cord a while back and put a female end on it so I had a 25' extension cord just in case. I have only used it at my Dad's place but it works well.

We have camped at campgrounds that we needed an extendtion on the power cord. So yes if they look to be in good condition I would pick one up for that occasion when you might need it.

I was going to say it was kinda high but it seems prices have gone up since the last time I bought one. I think I gave abt $25 at Wallyworld but they are now around $50.

I went back and got one today. It is a Park Power by Marinco, the same cord that is in the link I posted above.

Will NEVER use Adventure RV again. You can order by phone but no customer service by phone. In fact you can NOT talk to any one on the phone except to order. I am still waiting for parts I ordered 3 weeks ago after they sent the wrong parts out. Crappy system.

Davis,
This is a good idea, trust me. Last year we were on our way back to NY and stopped overnight in Ohio at a KOA. Of course I requested a pull-through so I didn't have to unhook the truck. As it turned out, the site was just long enough for my unit and my truck together. I couldn't pull my truck one foot further or I would have been in the line of site of others coming in. As it turned out I was 3' short of being able to plug my electric in. I had to go back to the office and request a different longer site. After that night I purchased an additional 30' for peace of mind.

Travel well,
Jim

Great discussion and advise. When we sold our first travel trailer and quit camping 10 years ago I thought I'd gotten rid of everything but the grill....when we got home from picking up our used Cruiser 28FB I went to the garage for blocks and there hanging on a hook was my 30A power extension cable. Sometimes things work so good.

Thanks, I've never used them but got on their mailing list somehow. They do have decent prices at times but if their customer service isn't there I will call them spam and go on.

Cliff
I am sure there are plenty of campers that will tell you that they LOVE Adventure RV. I am just recounting my experence with them, and that experence was BAD. There are too many other RV suppliers on the internet for me to deal with one that makes it hard for me to do business with them.

Are you going to the Northeast Crossroads Rally? I'm going to try attend. I can pick up another and bring it there if you want. The price with tax would be about $43.

I have 2 (two) 30 amp extensions that I would trade for a single 50 amp extension if anyone out there is interested.
