Murphie,

Didn't realize the Sealtech used such low pressure. I thought it was up around 4", not .4". The machines are expensive. You could make a living buying one and setting up a mobile leak test rig. Drive to campgrounds and make a killing at $90 a test!

Tomandlori,

What was the source of your leak? Looks like the baggage door in a few of the pics.

I was surprised too. I thought it would have been much higher but I guess that's
why they offer a model with a stronger motor. I think the furnace motor I have should be more than capable for this purpose. The idea of offering the mobile service is intriguing. It would take a while before you would see a return on your investment. Just wonder if the demand is there.

well, the dealer we bought it from gave up on it, they couldn't find the leak after tearing it apart 4 times in 2 years. They had Crossroads try 3 times to fix it. First time, Crossroads said it was the seal between the roof and the siding. They took the whole front of the siding off, from the slideout all the way around the front to the entry door. that lasted less then 6 months. The second time, they said it was the left front upper marker light. So, why did that light leak if it was taken off the first time???? I have a lot more pictures if you want to see them. The 3rd time they worked on it was to fix the real shotty carpentry work they did putting it back together.

So, after all the work, Crossroads paid for warranty work from Feb. 2011 to May 2014 on our coach.

Daystrom, were you able to rent the ventilator from somewhere local? I see you're from Alliance and we're from Stow. What you went through sounds similar to what we're going through with our 2012 Zinger 32QB. We're noticing a leak in the bedroom near the ceiling closet space. We're also noticing two leaks near the bottom sides of the slide. We haven't contacted Crossroads yet. It's obvious they weren't sealed correctly. We don't physically see the leak near the slides, but notice the wood is soft.

Just an update, I still have the same leak

I've put Eternabond across the entire front cap, pulled all the screws out of the door side drip edge, caulked the holes and re-tightened the screws.

It has to be coming from the front door side area as if I focus a garden hose in that area, I'll get drips from the bedroom closet ceiling trim.

As soon as the weather gets nice, I'm going to Eternabond the bedroom vent and antennas. Not sure where else to look.

If the front cap is well sealed, try that front running light near the top. It may not be sealed properly

The front marker lamp was the first place I checked. The leak I have is directly behind that light. It was thoroughly resealed with butyl tape and ProFlex. I can soak the lamp for an hour and no leaks there.

I had an issue on a previous Rv with the scarelight mounted on the side near the front. When resealed it stopped the leak. Another place to check.

I had a leak at the seam where the side of the trailer meets the skirt and you have that bulb seal. Had to re caulk along that edge, but you said your leak is at the top of the closet. Did you caulk the sides of the wrap around nose cap? I have clear caulk running all the way down both side edges.

Just wanted to check in and say I finally have this leak fixed.

I ended up buying a 50' roll of Eternabond tape and sealing everything on the roof. Cap seals, vents, antenna, etc.

Since the tape was applied the trailer has gone through monsoonal rains, an EF1 tornado, and the remnants of a hurricane. Here in NE Ohio we're something like .25" away from having the rainiest June on record and I have had ZERO leaks.

Something on the roof was leaking and I could never find it, but the tape took care of it.

My recommendation is Eternabond. It's the best stuff out there!

Todd

I'm truly happy for you... and that is a great testament to the effectiveness of Eternabond. I have a roll on hand (just in case)

Everyone should have a roll for ICE. (In Case of Emergency)
