Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions. I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet. I've thought about power washing the rest of the paint off the front and just leave it that way. Hopefully the decals will stay and I've also thought about get it painted at a body shop. Just not sure yet on the cost. Anyway, Thanks again and I will let you know what I decide to do with it and post pics when I do it. Thanks

I hear you on that one. Hopefully it is. All the ones that I've read about this happening to have been 2012 models so hopefully you are safe.

Does anyone know for sure this is actually paint?

I was looking at a zinger at a campground last weekend and it looked more more of a coating than paint.

Aluminum is a PIA to actually paint.

They can do it tho. I had my aluminum flow thru tail gate painted to match the truck.

You can paint aluminum but paint must be specific for aluminum.

Tim,

Do you know of any specific paints that can help Steve here?

looking at the front of that Zinger, it looks like what happens down here, when Love bugs season is in full force. If you do not wash those bugs off the juices will eat into the paint and in some cases will go to the bare metal and cause the paint to flake. I wash mine once we get in for the night both going and coming and the truck too. Currently we have in stock a 2006 Honda Accord with 60K on it that was not cleaned, and the bugs were left on. it means I will have to have it stripped and painted in order to sell it to a dealer.

It is a powdercoat finish, but you can also paint aluminum. Not sure of specifics on paint. We have used spray paint on small aluminum elevator parts.

Check with Ford, their new 2015 F150 is all aluminum alloy. I'm sure the body shops are stocking the paint shortly.

No. My experience is mostly much smaller parts. A body shop may be able to provide some guidance?

How about affixing signage detailing the age of the unit the poor quality paint & Crossroads failure to do anything about it. Then, everywhere u travel, people can see your issue & read about the manufacturer's lack of interest in rectifying the problem.
No company likes bad publicity. Maybe when they get wind if yor display, they will agree to do something about it...?

Talking 2012 Zinger paint issue

I ended up finding out I could claim it under my insurance so all I had to pay was my deductible and they have put brand new panels on the front. They have just finally got it done and I'm looking forward to picking it back up this weekend. They had to wait a little bit on getting the new panels in because the old ones were defective as it seems. . I'm just glad this is all done and my zinger is back to looking awesome. Bring on the camping

We, too, have a 2012 zinger with paint pealing off. So far no luck getting CR to help. We are working with Camping World and hope they will step up and fix since it seems to be an ongoing issue with the 2012s. Can anyone provide a contact at CR?

The guy I spoke with was Tom Woodiel from CR. (260) 593-2866 or email him at twoodiel@crossroadsrv.com
He was not able to help with getting ours fixed as we are the second owners AND the warranty was up even if we were the first owners but he did give us some helpful info.
Sorry to hear this happened to you too. It is a bummer but hopefully you can get it fixed quickly and be back at enjoying camping.
