Hey, Just wanted to say my wife and I are really trying to work out our schedule to include the factory rally. It'll be our first time and a long trek coming from all the way up in Canada.. but it sounds exciting. Will keep you informed when we figure things out!
(Still have to get my passport too...shes been on my case about that for over a year now :P)

That would be great if you can make it down here for the Rally. We do have a few couples who are from Canada that have been to the Rally as well. One family (Rees)for sure is coming from Embrun, Ontario this will be there second year. Hope to meet you Karen & Larry from Ill.

Well if they can make it from Embrun which is farther than us... surely we can manage (we're a little north of Toronto)

Just sent in my registration. I hope to meet you all and have a great time.
We will be getting in on Tuesday. Anyone coming from Canada, if you are coming across the Bluewater bridge, in Sarnia, on Tuesday, maybe we can hook up and travel together to the rally. We live about 5 minutes from the bridge on the U.S. side. PM me and we can see if we can make it work. Hey maybe we can gte a caravan going! LOL
Also anyone with little kids coming? We have a daughter thats 7 and we would like to have someone for her to play with if at all possible.Edited by: fixit5561

We won't be attending the rally this year, but we were there 2 years ago with our 2 girls at the time 3 &6. There was some other kids there, but not a too many. The campground is decent, but note there is no playground, pool or organized kid activities. We all still had a good time. My girls were more shocked on Amish lifestyle and in complete aah of it. For some activities we walked around downtown Shipshewana, horse / buggy ride around the downtown area, picked blueberries right down the street from the campground. We got a 6lb bag for about $6. The girls also had a great time at the factory playing in the different units while I went on the tour.
Keep checking the forum and maybe you'll get an idea on how many kids. I saw that Karen and Larry are bring their 10yr GD.

Excellent on the lots ofkids possibly showing up.
I see that if we get the site we want as our first choice,(Site #29 that is)that the Rees will be next door with their little girl thats about the same age as out daughter Abi. That would be great as Abi (8 yrs old in June, going on 14 of course! LOL) gets along with everyone and loves to play!Edited by: fixit5561

I have a question for the veterans who have been to this campground before. Do they have fire pits at each campsite? If not, can we bring along out portable firepit to have a fire by our site? I dont see anything on the campgrounds website that addresses this at all.

We will have our daughter who is 7, so if you are next to us I know they will have fun. Last year they had a water fight which was lots of fun as well as the amish children come through and play as well. There is a large community fire pit by the tent which set up for us. There are no pits at the sites, not sure if they are allowed but everyone seems to gather at the main fire pit. The campground supplies the wood, we just put a donation in the bucket for the wood. We will be leaving from Kingston Ontario on the monday before and will be at the campground on tues for those that are arriving early.
