Final step height on STR33BD entry steps?

Just curious if all 33BDs have such a long drop from the final step? Ours is almost 14". I measured the fold out entry steps and the drop is 6.75" per tread. I measured a friend's Jayco Eagle and the drop was almost 9" per tread. Seems like I need to swap out the steps with either a different brand or find a 4 step unit before I bust my sitter.

I can't answer your question specifically, but are you measuring while on a perfectly level site? If not, which ever side you are raising will make a big difference in how high that last step is.

Yes, it was on a level surface when I measured it. Just to be sure, I measured main and bedroom entry steps and they're about the same. Also, when I flip the bottom step up, it grabs on the step above, which has rubbed the step to bare metal on the front lip - both entrys. I think I may need to use my warranty on this anyway...

I haven't measure our but the last runner is high too. I purchase a fold up step stood from camper world that we keep at the entry door and place on the ground before folding out the steps. That first step is a killer. I also was looking at four step set up to replace but was alot cheaper to just get the step stood.

I also have the ST33BD, and I have lowered my steps, at least the main entry ones. There are 3 settings for heights for the steps and I lowered mine to the bottom one. They are bolted on with 4 nuts and bolts. If you do one side at a time, you will not have to support the whole assembly trying to bolt them back in place.

Thanks! Does your step rub when you fold it in?

My wife has some challenges and found the OEM steps to be difficult since they did not have the standard rise of 9 inches. So, I replaced them with this four step system. Because of the uniform rise, they feel like walking up normal steps.

I measured the steps on level ground this last time out. My threshold height is 33". From the bottom step to the ground is 15". On the LCI website, it states that the 3 step 7" rise set is good only to 30" and above that it calls for 9" rise. Oh well, guess I will fix their mistake at my cost.

I'm going to buy a small step for our trailer. It always seems like that last step out is a doozy.
