I had mice chew through the plug wires on one of my past cars when I left it at the airport for 2 months.

Here's an update on our truck. They ordered the used part (in-motor fuse box) and the wrong part came in. It took five days to come in. We want to leave for Florida Dec. 6. We told them to order a new part, as it only takes a couple of days. We are told the truck will be ready Tuesday afternoon.

The trailer, on the other hand, was promised for later today. No truck means we cannot pick it up until Tuesday. Are we having a good month, or what!

Since we are going with the new part, which is quite a bit more than a used one, we have decided to run this through the insurance. Thanks to drcook for that suggestion!

We finally got the truck back today after two weeks in the shop, most of it waiting for a part to come in. The wrong part came in so that's why it took so long. The total bill was $911.63. We also got the trailer back today, all fixed. That one was more ($), but we will be claiming most of that on warranty. The truck we will claim on the insurance.

This means that weather permitting, we are off to Florida on Saturday.

The auto repair shop suggested putting mothballs (2 or 3) around the motor in the car (which will be in the garage all winter). They said to have someone replace them when they wear out, about once a month.
