Towing with an 04 Trailblazer

We just purchased a 2006 Zinger ZT270RL. I'm planning on a TV upgrade but for the one or two last trips this season I'm hoping to use my Chevy Trailblazer. It is an LT 4WD I6 3.42 gears. Towing will be 80 miles round trip with only slight, short grades leading to the campground. certainly not flat but not like northern PA. Oh and I've got a external trans cooler on order I like the plate & fin type (radiator style).

Any opinions (yah I know what door that opens) fire away

Scott

First of all welcome to the board. Congrats on your Zimger. Second you know it is what it is. Make sure you have a good brake controller. I would use your 4 wheel drive to assist in backing up to take some of the strain off the transmission. I have had to do this once on a big hill. Good luck and happy camping !!

Scott, Welcome to the forum!
Daddyo&GG has it right when stated-- you know it is what it is.
Myself, I would be keeping my eyes open for a different TV. for the near future.

Yes your statement of----(yah I know what door that opens)
Should bring our resident expert out to give you some advise.

Anyway enjoy your new to rig, and congrats!!

Look in rig photos and you will see our 2012 27BHSE with our 2005 TB EXT. We had the I6 and 3:42. That combination handled quite well.

Your 27RL is too big for that truck. Period.

If you have the short wheelbase, I would even go as far as to say it is dangerous. Not sure what you have been using, but I would get a truck or full-size SUV ASAP.

Welcome to the forum.
Our trailblazer does fine but I would not want anything bigger to tow.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum.

Good sound advice here. Way too much trailer for that tow vehicle. No question.

Welcome to the forum. I used to tow a 19' TT with a '02 TrailBlazer EXT 4WD. It was all it could handle.
