Annual Inspection

I've read a few posts on this site referring to having the dealer complete the annual inspection form in the back of the owner's manual. My question is, "What is its value if the warranty expires when the inspection is due?" My 5er will be a year old just before Christmas. I have made arrangements to take it to the dealer early next month for an annual Virginia vehicle safety inspection, which is due in December and required by law, but I made no mention of a Crossroads inspection to the dealer while it is there. Is there a purpose for it?

There are some things on the trailer that have more then the one year warranty.
I think if you don't have the inspection done, and some where down the road there is an issue with something that has the longer warranty, they can say, not covered because there was no annual inspection done.
The dealer has to send CR a copy of the inspection when it's performed to verify that it has been taken care of.

Well...I took mine in for the roof inspection and they wanted to charge me for it. This was supposed to be free the 1st time. I don't believe they even went up on the roof. My skylight was full of stress cracks that you can't tell me they wouldn't have caught had they actually done an inspection.

Crossroads does not warrant any of the third party products.

Quote:

Warranty Exclusions - This Limited Warranty Shall Not Apply To:
Equipment, products, components, appliances, or accessories not manufactured by CrossRoads whether or not warranted, including but not limited to, tires, batteries, generators, washer, dryer, electronics and other installed equipment or accessories;

I don't see how a Crossroads inspection would have a bearing on any of the third party products.

Here's the document that needs to be filed every year.

Pretty self explanatory

The 2014 version of that does not include the 2 paragraphs at the bottom of the page.

If you have a newer version of the manual, would you upload it to the document section of the forum?

Would be helpful for the newer rv owners.

I'm not sure the point of an the inspection. If the warranty is only 1 year why bother?

Like I stated before---your roof and the structure is warrantied for way more then a year.
I would sure think that would make worth while for the annual inspection.

The membrane itself has a 12 year warranty. Supposedly.

The membrane is warranted by Alpha, not CrossRoads. The claim procedure is to contact Alpha Systems directly, not through CrossRoads or the dealer. Alpha says the purchaser should read and follow Alpha's care and maintenance instructions. They also say the purchaser should conduct quarterly inspections.

Yes, but hence the yearly inspection or it's not valid.
