I want to install a hardwired Surge Protector in my 2012 CF305SK 5th wheel,so I don't have to be concerned with the theft issue at campgrounds. It appears there are two (2) potential locations for installing the unit; directly behind the 50amp plug on the rear of the camper, or, inside the kitchen cabinet just next to my main electrical panel. Both of these locations gives me visual access to the lights on the protector.
Has anyone completed an install like this & where did you placeyour unit....?

Bill, I installed mine in the back right behind the plug.
Here's a link where it has been talked about, with pics.

I'm sure there will all kinds of opinions on the brands, I bought the Progressive Industries, hardwired50 amp EMS-HW50C. I paid $339.98 plus $12 shipping from Dyers RV. I like the remote display, where I can see what is going on, with the voltage, amperage & the hertz. I had the portable 50 amp EMS-PT50C, & sold it to my neighbor, so I could have the remote display inside our RV. Somebody may sell it cheaper, but we had bought other products from Dyer & it all included on the shipping. Here is that link:
