Slideouts not flush to outside walls.
My side slideouts do not go flush to the side walls of the trailer. I notice all slideout in other rvs are flush. What worries us is that the seals are exposed and will weather and fail. Anyone have the same situation and is it ok as long it seals?

My slides to the same thing. The dealer says that's the way it is because the seals are tight against the sides.

Take a picture and post it so people can take a look to see if it seems normal.
To add a picture this, go advanced, and look for additional options at the bottom of the page. Click on manage attachments and upload the picture. Once the picture is is uploaded, close the window, preview your post and it should be there.
If you need anymore help, just ask.

I do not know the model or year of your camper, but that is normal for the newer sunset trails

My 2015 32RL the slides are about a 1/2 inch out away from the trailer side and there tight on the seals mine look like some pretty fat seals.

When the seal makes contact with the trailer and compresses it can't do any more then that. The bulb seal will only compress just so far.
If there are some units that the slide is flush with the side of the trailer, then they must have a different set up where the seal is either recessed back in a ways or a different type seal.

If my slides ever close flush against the side of the trailer, then I will know it's time to replace the seals because they will have lost their cushion.

I have a 2014 Sunset Trail Reserve and my slideouts stick out as well, as others have stated I was also informed that is due to the seals and nothing to worry about.

To prevent seal failure, treat them with a dedicated seal spray or some even use Pledge spray wax. In order not to void my warranty, I went with the dedicated spray.
Here is a how to video:

All, go to youtube.com and type in rv slide out adjustment and find how to recalibrate/set to zero adjustment.
Hope this helps!
