Interesting sight

Saw a very interesting and unique sight this morning while looking out the window in the back of the house.
When looking out the back of our house we overlook total woods. We have a walkout basement so we are up high when looking out back. There is a ravine down in the woods a ways, and with the snow on the ground we are able to see a pretty good distance.
We were privileged to witness a Fisher making his way down in the bottom. I wondered at first if it might be a Martin, but after getting a good look with the field glasses, and consulting with Google, it was confirmed a Fisher.
WOW, what a treat.

A fisher bird or a fisherman ?!?

Very rare sighting - always nice for a find like that...

last year some large hawk looking things started bombarding me as I walked out to the mailbox...

looked them up and they were from the raptor family...
Mississippi Kites - gee-or-geous birds but very territorial of their nest way up in the trees !

Lloyd,
Wow, perhaps a once in a lifetime event. How lucky are you! I can only hope to witness the same in this lifetime. Congrats.

Travel well, travel safe,
Jim

When I retire I would like to spend my summers in Wisconsin or Minnesota. I have taken many fishing trips to Minnesota and Iam trying to get the time to get to Wisconsin for one. Iam also an avid bird hunter and have noticed Lloyd goes grouse hunting. Any suggestion on either would be more than welcome.
