Wisconsin Dells

Since we are getting our new 5th wheel in a few weeks we have started booking campsites for the summer. We are looking at doing the 1500 mile round trip from central Canada down to wisconsin dells in August. Is there any advice you can give us on which campgrounds we could stay at. The Internet is overwhelming with all the info and we like to here from some of you that have been there. Thank you happy trails.

If this has been discussed in another thread can someone lead me there. I did a search but didn't find anything. Thanks

Thank you fhenn. That is great site. We usually stay around home for our camping trips. This will be our first camping trip going this far.

Hey, get onto a KOA, Jellystone, Americamps, etc. site. they offer good deals and are pretty well scattered. Most campsite "sites" on the computer also have great pictures so you can see what the area looks like. have fun

We stay in the Dells almost every year, at Fox Hill RV park. It's not a pavement parking lot like some of the others there in the Dells, Goodsam discount and a very clean park.

Toba,
Lots of nice campgrounds in and around the Dells. Something I have been doing lately is getting the address of the campground and then going to Google Maps and looking at the CG in satellite view. What it has allowed me to do is avoid any sites that may have too many trees or aren't large enough for my unit. Just a suggestion for you.

Travel well,
Jim

I would recommend Stand Rock campground. Have stayed there several times. It is super clean, pool, wifi and reasonable rates. About three miles north of the end of the strip.

Thank you to all for your input. It is all getting put to good use lol. If you see a f350 with a cruiser aire behind it the last week of August gives us a honk and wave.

Happy trails

Holiday Shores isn't to bad.. On the water about 10Mins out of town. Can rent a pontoon boat and go out for the day. It's very large campground. Most parking lot parks have some deals that get you free admission into a water park or two. If I recall correctly Holiday Shores has a deal with Chula Vista. Many in the Dells have deals with Mt Olympus .
