Found out only yesterday after speaking to my dealer's service manager that on my 2 year warranty, "structural" components are only good for 1 year.....thus my third burnt out stabilizer motor, now not covered under warranty any longer, and a new motor has like a $300 price tag on it. I contacted Crossroads and mentioned to them my trailer was only 1 1/2 years old, only used twice on vacations, and again have a "fried" stabilizer motor because of those dam switches that mysteriously operate the motors to point of burn out.

To my astonishment, rep mentioned they have come up with a free harness kit to deal with this problem that includes:2 better "corrosion proof" switches & a fusible link that blows before motor does. Lippert is the stabilizer manufacturer, but Crossroads came up with this special FREE "kit". My service manager at dealership didn't even know about this! To make matters one step better, after taking down trailer VIN number, they will courier kit straight to my home. I even managed to talk rep into sending me a free stabilizer motor as well!



I know we've heard a lot of negativity towards Crossroads on these posts last while, but I thought I'd forward my2 centsworth to the forumand say to Crossroads: "ATTA BOY" for coming through for me!

The upgrade is free toanyone who has a unitwith the 2 exterior Lippert stabilizer motors & 2 outside under-skirt mounted switches. I merely called the Crossroads customer service number on website and spoke to a rep there who answered the phone. His name fails me now, but he was very accomodating. I knew nothing about the free upgrade until he mentioned it to me. He asked for my VIN number, and from that he knew my name and address & all details submitted to Crossroads from my dealer when first purchased.

Just called the crossroads customer service and the guy I spoke to had never heard of the upgrade switch and said the only remedy crossroads has for the sticking switches is electric grease on the connector.

I'll try again in a few days and hopefully get a different answer.

The person I spoke to, I beleive his name I wrote down as "Len". He called it an upgrade "kit". I do recall him mentioning about packing grease in the switch, and having to do it often as the grease may fall out or become gritty from dirt washing up against the switches. I specifically recall the conversation.....2 new improved switches & cable harness to wire into existing harness. (no cutting & splicing).

I haven't yet received the switches by courier, I assumed they'll be sending them to me the most economical way....US postal service (7-10 day parcel delivery). I'm feeling a tad perplexed now that you mention person you spoke to knew nothing about them! I will definately be calling them back to verify what "Len" told me!

Lynn Duggans.......that's the guy I spoke to! Just got off the phone with him 1/2 hour ago to inquire about my couriered parts. As it happens, box was delivered and left on my porch at home earlier in the day!

1-855-226-7496 Option 2 - 2 - 2 (for Crossroads trailers)...ask for Lynn

Have last 8 digits of your VIN # for him to verify you in their data base.

Package comes with 2 new switches, frame mountable .6 amp fuse, crimping connectors, spare wire pieces for connections and 3 pages of instructions with pictures.

Just called Crossroads service number and talked the rep. I asked about the upgrade kit for the switches, he checked my Vin# and said the kits are on their way. Only thing they had to be shipped to home address and not to a PO Box. Do Not remember the Rep name

O.K so I just received and e-mail from Lynn and said the kits are on their way. Good news, Lynn seems to know what's going on at crossroads, obviously the other guy didn't know what he was talking about!!

Just an FYI. I contacted Lynn at crossroads, I have a 2013 Sunset trail and it was manufactured in December of 2012. The upgraded switches came factory installed on mine. I'm not sure when in the production year they started changing them, but if your trailer is the same age or newer than mine, there is a good chance you are all set.

Just talked to Bill Hodge and the kit is for units built before June 2012 . Mine was built in late July 2012 and already has them on it . But I went a step further and enclosed the switches in a waterproof box.

Called Crossroads today re my 2013 ST 30RE. Spoke to Terry ? who was very helpful. Based on my VIN he said my unit needed the updated switch/usable link. Will send them out today. Fingers crossed!

Just got my switches on order today as well from customer service. Once I receive them I will be doing harleys mod immediatly after.
