I have a 32 ft. Sunset Trail that is permanently parked in a park. I'm trying to decide if I should remove the tires and place the trailer on jack stands. Any suggestions?
I would put the tires (they will probably rot after many years though) under the rig and install a skirting to help keep the critters and weather out. I would NOT use jack stands but instead use cinder blocks with leveling shims on top. Jack stands might fall over in an earthquake.
Thanks. I actually have a separate policy for my unit because I built a 12 x 24 covered deck which also covers my trailer. The upper deck connects to a 16 x 16 lower deck which then is connected to my boat dock.
I assume you've checked with the park? Some States require you to keep tires on and register the camper every year as a camper. If it has no tires, it might be considered a permanent structure, like a home, and your tax liability or permission to remain might be jeapordized. Just thought this was worth mentioning.
