We have been on the road on our "western US tour". One of the items on my bucket list was to travel the Going to The Sun road on the Red Bus Tour in Glacier National Park. We did the Tour of the Continent tour. It was great and we had a driver that kept us entertained. Glad I was not driving the road - I would not had seen much of the park. Length limit on portions of the road is 21 feet - my truck is 21' 6". I did see trucks like mine on the road though.

We were at Rapid City during Sturgis Bike Week and we did not have any problems getting to the places we wanted to see.

Places we visited and places we stayed at that I would recommend:
VESTERHEIM - THE NATIONAL NORWEGIAN-AMERICAN MUSEUM AND HERITAGE CENTER, Pulpit Rock Campground, Decorah, IA. (wife and I have relatives that settled in Minnesota that were from Norway - visiting this was on her bucket list).
Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, Crazy Horse Memorial -Rapid City KOA, Rapid City, SD</span>
Yellowstone NP - Rocky Mountain RV park. </span>Garnier, MT.</span>
Glacier NP - Mountain Meadow RV park - Hungry Horse, MT
Visiting relatives in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota - Country Campground - Detroit Lakes, Minnesota
Our final place to visit will be Mackinaw City, Michigan. We will be staying at the Mackinaw City KOA.

Still not home (another 1300 miles from home) and have put 4801 miles on our truck and 3839 miles on the camper.

I turned 62 while on the road and picked up my Senior Pass - only $10.00 and good for life. So we did not have to pay the entry fee into Yellowstone and Glacier NPs. I picked my pass up at the Black Hills National Forest Mystic District visitors center in Rapid City, SD

Thanks!

For others reading the posting - I met "Kamper Dave" at Yellowstone. Always nice to "place a face with a name" of folks on the forum.

Glad your trip is going smoothly. We did the "going to the sun" road a few weeks ago. I agree it is fantastic. Our truck fit so we ended up driving East, having lunch at the lake and then returning to the West entrance. What a fantastic drive!
