Brand new to the forum and to the Seville. Just picked up our 2011 VF36SB last week. Got it home, plugged in and started smelling something like burning wood (reminds me of a hotsoldering iron on wood). Long story short, the odor is coming from above the left freezer door, thru the wood work above/around it. Have turned off and am trying to get dealer to answer my email/call.There is a lot of heat coming up with the odor too. Doesnt sound good to me, anyone else had a similiar problem?
You did the right thing by shutting it down. You should not have a burning smell when the fridge is on. I would get it back to the dealer as soon as you can in case you have a short that could set something on fire.

A 4 hour drive each way to the dealer would suck. I would make a list of anything else you need them to fix under warranty while they had it so you did not have to make anymore of those trips.

Burning wood seems a bit strange. It could possibly be wood chips from install/construction in the heat chamber or that area. You would be surprised where I found LOTS of construction debris. I don't think CR owns a vacuum.
I have checked the area behind the top vent panel and dont see anything that looks like it got hot. Although I cant see the inside of the Luan board/panel that runs the width of and slightly behindthe fined heat exchanger.
There is a panel that has seperated at a seam that would normally "seal" the outside part of the refrigerator. Perhaps if it was in place, I wouldnt have gotten the odor inside the coach???
