Hi everyone, we recently put a deposit down on a Seville VF35CK and after reading Pat's post realize it might even be from the same dealer. It was a nice surpriseto see so many members of the forum from Alberta and Saskatchewan, we live just outside of Calgary.
We are due to take delivery of our new rv next week so we went over the other day to do our own pdi but the trailer was not hooked up to water, power etc so we just concentrated on the cabinets, mouldings etc and told them we would be back to do a more extensive check when everything is hooked up, hopefully this weekend.
I hope they don't think we are being too picky or jerks but our last 5th wheel a Challenger bought from Novak in Calgarywe had problems with the pdi, they got their money first and then when we went out into the yard to do our own pdi before we drove it off the lot there were a ton of things that needed to be done that they had missed and of course they didn't bother rushing as they already had our money - bad experien
So far we have noticed a few troubling items, the worst being a dent in the sofa/dinette slide on the bottom corner, it's likesomeone backed it in to the parking spot when the slides were still out andrubbed the slide on another vehicle, my hubby's friend looked at it and said that it can't really be fixed perfectly new so they should be knocking some money off but how on earth do we determine what is fair?
Another troubling item is that when you walk on the floor between the sink and the fridge you can hear a popping kind of noise, not a creek or a squeek it sounds like the plywood is delaminated from the beam if you know what I mean and when you walk a certain way it makes this popping.unsticking kind of noise,I am not referring to the laminate flooringnot being bonded down it is definitely down deeper and something to do with plywood and the beam,I personally am not sure how on earth that can be repaired, any ideas on what we should be looking for to make sure that it is repaired for good not just temporarily?
My husband popped in the other day to see if they had made any progress and the service guy had spent hours fiddling with the furnace evidently the wires in the thermostat were backwards or mixed up - hmmm not good, glad they discovered that before we were all set up at our permanent camp spot and all blocked in. We also had a few loose mouldings but nothing major, the dent is still visible after a bit of work and the guy was still pondering the floor when hubby left him to it.
This is a huge investment and I don't want to miss anything when we do our own pdi, is there anything peculiar to Crossroads that we should be watching out for? We printed off our pdi list from another RV forum and it seems pretty comprehensive.
Thanks for any advice,
albi
