We picked up our new cruiser today. we are so fired up.

I noticed that the spare tire is mounted in the middle of the front so I think mounting the JT's will be tough. The crank to get the spare down is dead center.

Anyone have a work around or should I consider using the Steadyfast system vs the JT's?

Thanks for the input!

I have read on here that people were able to move the spare tire back enough to allow for the JTs. I'm not sure which one is better. Let me know how it goes... that is something I'd like to get this year too.

I moved my spare back & off center, it's easy, only 2 bolt holes.

Thanks, I presume this will make sense if I get under there and look at it.

ditto on FFFord, installed our JT's in fall of 2005 and did the same. Fairly easy relocation.

Love the JT's, would not leave home without them.

I moved the tire mount back about 4 inches. It was just enough to make room for the centre mount of the StrongArm. We love the JT's. It got rid of 99% of the trailer wobble when you're moving around in it. You won't be disappointed with either brand.

I had my dealer mount the spare to my rear bumper and that took care of the problem.< id="Siber_1" ="application/rf-chrome-plugin" style="left: 0px; top: 0px; width: 0px; height: 0px; : fixed; display: block; ">

I mounted UltraFab stabilizers a couple of years ago. The spare had to be relocated to do this. And because the cable inside the spare mountseized up, I ended up replacing the spare mount as well. The new mount is a different design so required drilling new holes anyway. The spare is now about 4" back from the original location. I checked on itlast week when I was checking theair pressure. Doesn't seem to be any problem in this new location.

I took a hard look at the Ultrafab's they look JUST like the JT's....think they are made by the same OEM?

How do you like yours?

I have read some people say they grab or stick when raising the landering gear.....any issues with yours?

I haven't had any issues except once early on when I forgot to loosen the T-bolts. When you mount them make sure the pivot points aren't in a bind. If I recall JT'sis now owned by Lippert? In any case different companies but still could be made in the same plant the way things are now a days.

The one issue I did have with my UltraFabs was some missing hardware; nutsbolts and washers. Iwas halfway thru teh install so had to run out and buy what was missing. I was to be on the road the next day so couldn't wait for them to send.Edited by: shoetravel

Thanks Patrick. I actually went ahead and bought the UltraFabs while at Campingworld, saved me freight. I compaired them to my friends JT's, (Parked next to me at Storage) and they are damn near identical. I quickly scanned the instructions....they are similar to my Plug it Rights....my issue is going to be finding a mounting location for the rear jacks. I don't see a place and it says not to exceed 18 inches in front or behind the mount. So I gotta get up there and take a hard look again. I was in a rush.

I learned today that JT was in lawsuit with UltraFab but since Lippert bought JT's, that was dropped.

That would explain that I suppose.

I just installed the SteadyFast system on our Cruiser CTX 26RKX. I didn't have to move the spare tire at all. Paul at SteadyFast was a great help with his advice. He will have pictures of my install up on his website shortly.

Is there a real difference in JT strong arm or steadyfast? I can get either but there is about a $50 difference.

JTs on mine - moved the spare tire back about 2 inches. No longer use a pin type stabilizer. Were worth the investment for me.

If you install them yourself get a good set of drill bits for the installation.

Well I just installed the JT strong arms. Wow what a difference. That was the best $220 I spent on the camper. Took about 3 hours to install. The front cross brace I installed then on is pretty flimsy. I think I will add a strengthener. The rear ones are not installed in complete compliance with the instructions. The cross brace was suppose to be a minimum of 6 inches behind the jacks. It's actually 2 inches in front. Was an easy installation.

My wife is fighting vertigo so I had to do something to minimize the swaying and rocking from the kids and dog. This was well worth it.
