Does anyone have a beer meister in their TT. I have been thinking how I can put mine in the 5erand have a tap on the outside too, so I don't have to keep going inside.

Anyone's input (positive please)would be appreciated.

George, why don't you just put a long hose on the keg instead of going to all the hassle of running a tap through the side of the 5er?
That way you could have it with all the time.

I keep our fridge in the hose on a very cold setting. Susan gets mad because she claims it damages her lettuce, fruits, ect. I tell when she turns the thermostat up it ruins my beer!!! I usually win that battle!

Depending upon how much spade you have you might be able to modify a cube size fridge to fit a 1/4 barrel. You could also just use a big tub with ice. As for the dispensing part, www.beveragefactory.com sells conversion kits. You could buy a kit and drill a small (1/2 inch) hole through the basement storage door and mount the tap to the door. You could then be able to open the door. I have thought about putting my kegerator downstairs, but the problem is keeping the line cold from the refrigerator (or cooler, or whatever) to the tap. It woudl pretty much mean your first beer will be warm no matter what . The beer ball has been making a comeback which gives you less quantity but is easier to work with and may fit in a dorm sized fridge. But the nice thing about a kegerator is NOT having to pump the keg.

I already have a Meister. It just might make it to the 5er this summer. I tell the DW that it can be our table between the chairs.

Now that is a great idea....you wouldn't even have to get up for a refill.

why not get the extra long line and instead of running the tap through your wall mount it in a cooler that you can move where you want it and keep a little ice in the cooler to cool down that first glass as it comes out. trucks aside we have beer in common

Well it made it to the 5ver!! Now to figure out how to get the 1/2 keg in it. I might have to settle for 1/4 kegs. Since back surgery only allowed to lift 80 lbs now, 1/2 keg is like 160-170 lbs. Well, leaving tomorrow and going to a local campground for 2 weeks, willpost how it works out.

Well I thought I would post an update on this. The beer meister made it to the 5ver and to the campground, but when it was plugged in...it didn't work. (would not get cold ) It was removed and I am just buying cases like everyone else. The CO2 regulator put a hole in the cooling thing in the back of the refrigerator from movement and lost the refrigerant. It was going to cost 1/2 as much as a new one to repair. I ended up selling it for a couple bucks to buy some cases. Oh well I tried. It might of worked better if it were a new meister, not a 12 year old one!!
